Do you know that....?
Puzzles have been invented in 1763 by John Spilsbury, a London engraver and cartographer. At first they were supposed to facilitate geography lessons. Spilsbury stuck printed maps to thin boards of mahogany and cut the whole on the borders of particular lands. Later this teaching method became very popular in the entire England, being now applied also for teaching other subjects.

At the beginning of the 20th century they started cutting elements by machine out which allowed to lower costs and popularize this form of entertainment.
